Frederique Constant Classic Tourbillon with Aventurine Dial

Frederique Constant has released a special edition of its Classic Tourbillon model featuring a precious aventurine dial.

Limited to only 36 pieces, the Classic Tourbillon Manufacture with aventurine dial comes in a polished 39 mm x 11 mm case crafted from 18kt white gold and is water resistant up to 3 ATM (30 metres / 100 feet).

A scratch-resistant and anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal protects the dark blue dial, which features diamond-cut hands and applied hour markers.

Distinguished by its translucency and the presence of sparkling mineral inclusions that create a shimmering effect, the aventurine material evokes a starry night.

Thanks to the 100% hand-crafted process involved, no two dials created with aventurine are exactly alike, making each piece of this limited edition truly unique.

The large aperture at 6 o’clock reveals the tourbillon, a watchmaking feat designed to offset the effects of gravity on the watch movement by keeping the escapement in constant motion thus preserving an ideal running rate. The seconds hand revolves within the tourbillon.

The individual number of each piece is marked on the tourbillon cage and engraved on the see-through caseback which reveals the finishings on the self-winding FC-980-4 calibre, including hand-bevelled chamfers, beading on the bridges, straight-grained flanks and a delicate mirror polish.

Operating at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with a power reserve of 38 hours, the FC-980-4 calibre features a silicon escapement for improved resistance to the adverse effects of magnetism and temperature variations.

Paired with a navy blue alligator leather strap with tone-on-tone stitching and a white gold folding buckle, the new Frederique Constant Classic Tourbillon Manufacture with aventurine dial, ref. FC-980AV3H8, has a suggested retail price of €39,995. frederiqueconstant.com.
